I grew up in Michigan, home of the Great Lakes. I spent my childhood bouncing back and forth from my best friend’s swimming pool to the lake my family has a home on. I have always lived near the water. I am also, however, part of the “jaws generation.” The jaws generation is pretty much a cohort of children who loved the movies and then proceeded to have an irrational fear of jaws and all things shark. For a long time I was convinced Jaws would pop out of the drain in the deep end of my grandparents swimming pool! I would swim in the deep end, but always keep a close eye on that drain! I grew up going to the ocean, but I didn’t spend a lot of time just swimming in the sea. The ocean was for snorkeling and the pool was for swimming. If I was in the ocean, I made sure I had a mask on and could see the critters I was swimming among. I’m not really scared of the ocean, just reluctant to let my guard down…typical behavior for those of us in the jaws generation.
My husband, Rob, on the other hand, grew up by the ocean. Walking along the beach he’ll carefully pick up every little critter he sees. He grew up swimming in the Atlantic, having crab races and fishing among the surf. If he is anywhere near the ocean he immediately wants to go for a swim.
On our recent family vacation to Fripp Island, South Carolina, Rob decided to go boogie boarding. I decided to watch. So he was out boogie boarding and I was sitting on the steps enjoying the sun and watching him ride the waves. I had never tried boogie boarding. Suddenly I realized it looked fun. It looked exciting. And it was something new and different for me. Then it occurred to me…boogie boarding was new, different, exciting and a little bit beyond my comfort zone (since it involves swimming in the ocean without a mask)! This is the exact formula necessary for new, different and exciting results!!
I felt a little nudge from my Soul…”just go for it!”
I ran up the 38 steps to the house, threw on my bathing suit, grabbed a boogie board and ran back down to the beach. Rob had a huge smile on his face as he saw me coming. He taught me how to ride the surf and for the next hour we just played in the ocean together.
It’s important to note that later that day, I got a new client 🙂 In fact, it’s the whole point of writing this to you right now. This is how we manifest!!
Here are the energetics: getting new clients, for me, is exciting, fun and allows my Soul to relish in expanded self expression. Getting new clients also feels liberating because I receive payment for my services and that fuels my sense of financial freedom. When I took action (boogie boarding with Rob) that was exciting, fun and allowed my Soul to feel more expansive and free, I put myself in the same energetic, vibrational state as I am in when I get a new client. Feeling that excitement, joy, adventure and freedom made me a match to other experiences that make me feel more of those same emotions…like getting a new client. This is the law of attraction in action. Makes sense, right?
So let me ask you…what are you wanting to manifest and create in your life? How will you feel when you create that? Now go do things that make you feel that same way, right now. If creating your ideal relationship will feel exciting, joyful and adventurous, go do things that make you feel excited, joyful and adventurous now. What’s the most exciting, joyful and adventurous outfit you could wear today? The most exciting, joyful and adventurous dinner you could eat or movie you could watch? Bring the energy of exciting, joyful and adventurous into your life and you will put yourself into a place of being an energetic match for that relationship.
Post your comments below : ) I would love to hear your thoughts and stories of manifestation.
To Your Divinity!
